Requirements

Why participate in an internship?
Every student is required to complete an internship for the Leadership Minor. Each student will need to enroll in the LDSP 491 course upon completition of the internship. The course will give you an opportunity to reflect on the internship experience.

How long does the internship have to be?
The internship requires a MINIMUM of 120 hours.

When should I do my internship?
You must complete the internship before taking LDSP 491 but AFTER completing the LDSP 300 and LDSP 310 courses.

What kind of internship should I do?
This part is up to you! We suggest that you participate in an internship in a field that you are interested in. There are many opportunities in the Hampton Roads area as well as your hometown! We have had students intern with organizations from Verizon Wireless to Busch Gardens Williamsburg. We have had students travel to Africa, or stay on campus and intern with a CNU organization. Where you intern is totally up to you! Continue to check your mailboxes and e-mails and talk with PLP staff for internship opportunities and suggestions. Is LDSP 491 writing intensive?
LDSP 491 is NOT a writing-intensive course and will not help you fulfill CNU’s two writing intensive course requirements to graduate.
