Procedures & Requirements for entrance into the President's Leadership Program:

  • Submission of an application for admission to Christopher Newport University.
  • Submission of the application for the President’s Leadership Program.
  • Show competitive grade point average and SAT / ACT scores. Candidates with a 3.5 GPA and a 1200 SAT (Critical Reading and Math only) or 27 ACT are preferred. However, candidates with a 3.4 GPA in a strong curriculum and a 1170 SAT (Critical Reading and Math only) or
    26 ACT will be considered as well.
  • Demonstrate involvement in and commitment to school or community activities.
  • Submission of essay or personal statement (optional).
  • Admissions will contact qualified applicants to schedule a mandatory on campus interview (preferred) or webcam interview. Fall on campus interview dates are Friday, October 26 and Friday, November 2, although interviews can be scheduled on alternative dates.
  • Must reside on campus at Christopher Newport University.
  • Must participate in one of two Outdoor Adventure programs schedules for June 17-21 and June 24-28, 2008.
